A small book documenting the historical journey along the Midland Highway between Launceston and Hobart — including the experience of Anthony Trollope, who travelled the route by coach through Campbell Town during his visit to Tasmania in January 1872, part of his thirteen-month tour of Australia and New Zealand.

A local history of the Presbyterian ministers and families of the Kirklands church, on a rural property just outside Campbell Town, Tasmania — closely tied to the district's pastoral families, including those of nearby Valleyfield and Winton.

John Washington Price was just 21, and recently graduated from Dublin's College of Surgeons, when he sailed as ship's surgeon aboard the transport Minerva from Cork to Sydney in 1799, carrying 200 convicts. Many were United Irishmen transported for their role in the 1798 Rebellion, including the rebel leader General Joseph Holt.
