Weep in Silence - Flinders Island Aboriginal Settlement by N.J.B. Plomley

A history of the Flinders Island Aboriginal Settlement with the Flinders Island Journal of George Augustus Robinson 1835-1839. Weep in Silence also tells of the 1847 return of the surviving Tasmanian Aborigines to the Oyster Cove station on mainland Tasmania where, with few exceptions, all those previously associated with Flinders Island were to die.

N.J.B. Plomley (1912-1994) was Director of the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Launceston, from 1946 to 1950, and remained an honorary research associate there until his death. His editorial works on Tasmanian Aboriginal history include Friendly Mission (1966), The Baudin Expedition and the Tasmanian Aborigines 1802 (1983), and this volume, Weep in Silence (1987).
