The story of World War II Bomber Command as told by Lancaster navigator, Tasmanian Max Sanders.

Max Sanders was born and educated in Launceston, joining the local Cadet Air Training Unit while still at school. After training in Australia and the UK, he flew Lancaster bombers at just 19 years of age with the Royal Canadian Air Force's 419 "Moose" Squadron, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for gallantry in action. Unable to speak about his wartime experiences for decades, Sanders' story stayed untold until, forty-five years after the war, he was reunited with the crewmates who had flown alongside him.
