A Geographical Historical and Topographical Description of Van Diemen's Land |HCDJ 1967|

George William Evans served as Deputy Surveyor-General of Van Diemen's Land from 1812, and his 1822 book was one of the earliest published descriptions of the colony, written to give prospective emigrants practical hints on obtaining land grants and the articles they would need to bring with them, alongside his own geographical and historical account of the island.

This 1967 facsimile edition includes a fold-out map and an introductory note by Tasmanian historian K.R. von Stieglitz.
