A biography of John Dyer, a free (i.e. not a convict) immigrant to Van Diemen's Land who became in turn a Longford farmer, Hadspen innkeeper and Kentish / Sheffield pioneer. Families included in this history are Saltmarsh, Perkins, Arnott, Boutcher, Duff and Austin.
