Holy Trinity Church, Cressy, was built between 1857 and 1858 and consecrated on 19 May 1858 by its designer, the Right Reverend Francis Russell Nixon, first Bishop of Tasmania. Cressy itself was founded in 1855 by the Cressy Company, formed in England to run large agricultural and grazing enterprises in the Norfolk Plains district, about 36 kilometres from Launceston. Karl von Stieglitz wrote this booklet for the church's centenary celebrations in 1958.
