Russell Atkinson's biography of Ellen Nora Payne — the Westbury-born woodcarver who lived 97 years and left her work in churches, schools and institutions across Tasmania and beyond. The scope of her work was extraordinary — the altar and screens of St Andrew's Church at Westbury, WWI honour boards for the University of Tasmania and institutions across the state, 34 dower chests for family and friends, a commemorative medal for a blackwood screen at the 1924 British Empire Exhibition at Wembley, the Royal Coat of Arms for the Tasmanian Parliament in 1939, and a vestry plaque for All Hallows-by-the-Tower in London completed when she was in her early nineties.

Built in 1821 at Hadspen in northern Tasmania, Entally House was home to four generations of the Reibey family, descendants of the celebrated emancipist businesswoman Mary Reibey.
