A tribute to one of Australia's lesser known pioneer photographers - the ex-convict William Cawston. Cawston arrived in Hobart Town, Van Diemen's Land in 1845 as a 17-year old convict on a Ticket of Leave, giving his occupation as a carpenter. He later moved to Launceston and developed a reputation as an excellent photographer, winning an award for architectural and landscape views, which now make up an important record of the history of Launceston and the north of Tasmania.

This is a USED book; it is in used but generally very good condition. Please contact the bookshop, Just Tassie Books at The Book Cellar, if you require additional detailed photos and description of condition before purchasing.
