Tense Past documents Tasmanian Aboriginal artist Julie Gough's survey exhibition held at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG), Hobart, in 2019. The exhibition brought together 25 years of Gough's art practice, reuniting more than 30 artworks from collections across Australia. Historic artworks and objects were also selected by Gough, alongside her own works, to critique the colonisation of Tasmania and its impact on First People and colonists.
