Author Rex Greeno was born on Flinders Island, 30 kilometres off the north east coast of Tasmania. Here he tells the story of his grandfather's life, as a fisherman and Tasmanian aboriginal.

Rex's father Joe owned and operated three fishing boats in his half life-time which influenced Rex to take up commercial cray fishing. Rex fished with his grandfather Silas Milton Mansell, his father and his brother Bruce around Tasmania for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2008.
