Purple and Blue - The History of the 2/10th Battalion, AIF
The unit history of the 2/10th Battalion, AIF - The Adelaide Rifles in World War Two.

Purple and Blue offers a detailed account covering the battalion's full story from its formation in South Australia through to Borneo in 1945. Originally intended to a part of the 6th Division, the 2/10th was diverted to England after the fall of france to bolster home forces - it later joined Australia's "Silent" 7th Division where it served with distinction in North Africa and Syria.

Transferred to Papua New Guinea in mid 1942, the unit served at Milne Bay and Buna, and added Shaggy Ridge to it's Battle Honours that were rounded out in 1945 when it participated in the invasion of Borneo at Balikpapan.
