The first of three photographic history books telling stories of the Tamar River and the Launceston district, compiled by the Friends of the Library, Launceston, and edited by local historian Peter Richardson. Illustrated throughout with historical black and white photographs, drawn from private collections and the library's own archives, alongside the stories behind them.
Richardson, who also coordinates the Launceston Family Album project, edited all three volumes in the series between 2001 and 2007.
