Written by Carol Bacon and David Gatenby and published in 2021, the book covers Andrew Gatenby's early interactions with the Aboriginal inhabitants of the area, encounters with bushrangers, and even with thylacines — a genuinely rich picture of life in the Tasmanian Midlands in the colonial era, told through one family's own records.
