This is the biography and family history of convict William Rose Watts, born in Essex in 1811 and transported to Van Diemen's Land for 14-years for stealing six ceramic mugs from his employer.

William Watts arrived in Van Diemen's Land in 1831 and was assigned to Thomas Reibey at Entally. He went on to raise a family at Deloraine, and later a second family near Melton in Victoria.
