Trout and Fly in Tasmania | R.H. Wigram | First Edition 1938 [USED – HCDJ]

Published by Angus & Robertson in 1938, Trout and Fly in Tasmania by R.H. Wigram is one of the earliest and most sought-after books on Tasmanian fly fishing. Wigram wrote from direct experience of fishing Tasmania's highland lakes and rivers during the 1930s — a period when the fishery was relatively untouched and access was considerably more difficult than today.

The book covers the waters, the flies and the techniques of the era, and gives a vivid picture of Tasmanian trout fishing at a time when few written accounts existed. For collectors of Australian angling books it is a significant title — Angus & Robertson print runs of the 1930s were modest and copies retaining their original dust jacket are scarce.
