Richard Henry ("Dick") Wigram (1903–1970) was one of Tasmania's most influential angling writers, contributing a fishing column to the Launceston Examiner for 38 years and completing six books over his career, all now noted for both their content and their scarcity: Trout and Fly in Tasmania (1938), Nymph Fishing in the Southern Hemisphere (1939), Anglers Guide to Tasmania (1946, revised 1959), The Uncertain Trout (1951), The Shannon Rise (1953), and The Fly (2002, published posthumously). He is credited with developing several enduring Tasmanian fly patterns, including "Wigram's Robin" and "Wigram's Brown Nymph" (widely known as the "Pot Scrubber"), and was inducted into the Anglers Alliance Tasmania Hall of Fame in 2007.

Illustrated throughout with full-page black and white photographs by Norman Taylor, this book covers Wigram's fishing on Tasmania's rivers, including the Macquarie, Liffey and St Patrick's Rivers and the Break O'Day district.

CONDITION: Good. Cover good; endpapers tanned, with insect damage to the top corner of the front free endpaper and indentations to the rear free endpaper; pages generally in good condition otherwise.
PROVENANCE: A small former-bookseller's sticker inside the front cover; no bookplates or inscriptions.
