Andrew Wilson's photographic portrait of Tasmania's seafaring community — the first of two volumes. Wilson photographs and interviews the people who have made their lives on and around Tasmanian waters — fishermen, shipbuilders, maritime tradespeople, chandlers and others whose working lives are tied to the sea.

At 243 pages with black and white photographs throughout, this is a documentary portrait of a community rather than a history book — faces, stories and working lives captured before they disappear. Volume 2 is also available often from The Book Cellar.
