A scarce 1905 historical survey detailing the administrations of early colonial governors like Collins, Davey, Sorell, and Arthur. Originally delivered as lectures during the 1904 centenary, this volume was published by the legendary Tasmanian photographer and historian John Watt Beattie.

Condition Details & Defects:

• Published in Hobart, 1905. First Edition. Hardcover, original binding.
• Cover: The cloth boards are in worn condition with bumped corners, surface mottling, faded sections, and old ink marks on the back. The gold gilt title on the front remains relatively bright and clear.
• Binding: The internal stitched text block is starting to pull loose from the spine and should be handled with care.
• Interior: The title page features an ink smudge and the remnants of an old children's coloured transfer decal. Previous owner details are written in colored pencil in the front, with some sections scribbled out. Pages show occasional small tan marks at the edges but remain complete, firm, and fully readable.
