A history of the Kettering–Oyster Cove area south of Hobart, by Julie Gardam. The district's history includes Oyster Cove itself — known today by its Aboriginal name, putalina — where, in 1847, the surviving Tasmanian Aboriginal people were relocated from Wybalenna on Flinders Island, following their earlier forced removal from their own country during the Black War. The site was returned to the Tasmanian Aboriginal community in 1995.
