Olive Pink was born in Hobart in 1884 and lived in Tasmania until her mid-20s, before her later work in anthropology, Aboriginal rights activism and botanical art took her to Central Australia, where she established what is now the Olive Pink Botanic Garden in Alice Springs.

This book presents a selection of Pink's botanical paintings, held at the University of Tasmania Library, each botanically identified and paired with a photograph of the plant.
