The centenary history of Bridport — the small township on the north-east coast of Tasmania at the mouth of the Brid River, published in 1983 to mark 100 years since the township was officially proclaimed.
Bridport sits on the edge of Anderson Bay on the north coast, roughly midway between Scottsdale and Ringarooma but on the coast — a small fishing and holiday community that developed around the river mouth and the sheltered bay. The book covers the establishment and development of the township and its surrounding district across its first century — the families, the industries, the community life and the changes that shaped the area from 1883 to 1983.
At 199 pages plus illustration section and index, this is a thorough piece of north-east Tasmanian local history. Out of print since publication. Not commonly found.
