A scarce 8-page vintage regional pamphlet detailing the military outpost and convict "dog line" at Eaglehawk Neck. Printed by the Mercury Press in Hobart, this was a handy reference booklet to Port Arthur and Tasman Peninsula penal history for tourists in the 1950s.

Condition Details:

  • Format: Staple-bound softcover pamphlet (8 pages).
  • Date: 1952 (indicated by the Mercury Press printer mark on the back cover).
  • Flaws to note: The paper pages and cover are tanned with age, and the cover shows some light crinkling and marking. The original staples are relatively tight but show classic rust bleeding onto the internal paper. There is an old pencil price mark on the top left of the front cover, and our shop price is pencilled on the back cover.

A hard-to-find piece of local convict history. Please check our extra photos to see the cover condition and the internal staple rust before purchasing. Contact Just Tassie Books in The Book Cellar, Campbell Town Tasmania if you have any questions.
