Dodging ships and weathering gales, the small ships were the lifeblood of Tasmania's islands, bringing in the necessities of life and taking away island produce including livestock, dairy produce and mutton birds in season.
On this DVD you can hear from the people who were there and did it all. The Stackhouse brothers, Alf and Brian, have raised stock on some of the outer islands of Bass Strait for over 60 years. They are the last of their kind.
