A history of Gipps Creek, a small remote Tasmanian tin mining area between Avoca and the Ben Lomond plateau, near the Fingal Valley.
Discovered for tin mining in 1881, it hit is heyday in the 1920s, but did not die completely with tin scratching and fossicking continuing until the late 1980s.
