A scarce original 1916 corporate legal pamphlet outlining the founding regulations of the prominent Launceston-based woolbrokers and stock agents, Allan Stewart Limited.
This specific copy is a unique historical archive piece. It served as the company’s official working legal master during its 1921 restructure into a Proprietary company under the new Tasmanian Companies Act.
Key Provenance Features:
- The 1921 Form 12: Features an original, oversized "Form 12 for Filing" tipped in at the front, typed and dated 27th May 1921.
- Official Hand-Annotations: The text contains numerous live legal amendments, cross-outs, and updates written in red or blue ink and pencil.
- Restructure Markings: The word "Proprietary" is officially stamped next to the company name on both the front cover and the primary title page.
Condition Details & Defects:
- Format: Staple-bound softcover pamphlet. Published 1916, updated 1921.
- Cover & Binding: The front cover shows a heavy vertical crease. The original staples are rusting, causing typical historic rust bleeding onto the surrounding paper.
- Pages: The tipped-in 1921 legal form is larger than the standard booklet pages, resulting in quite ragged and worn edges to that specific sheet. The remaining text is complete, firm, and fully readable.
