Bob Casey, a founder of the Errol Flynn Society of Tasmania, sets out to correct the many myths surrounding Hollywood's most famous swashbuckler — Hobart-born Errol Flynn (1909–1959) — drawing on Flynn's own not-always-reliable autobiography, My Wicked, Wicked Ways, and Earl Conrad's 1978 memoir. The book examines Flynn's mysterious ancestry, including his claimed descent from HMS Bounty mutineer Midshipman Edward Young, his colourful parents (his father was Hobart zoologist Theodore Thomson Flynn), and his mischievous youth before Hollywood beckoned. Runs to over 130 pages with more than 130 illustrations, and includes a special Errol Flynn walking tour of his home town, Hobart.
