In February 1851, the Northern Tasmanian Cricket Association ground staged Australia's initial first class cricket match. Since then, the Launceston ground has hosted some of the world's finest players and as the headquarters of the game in Northern Tasmania aided the development of generations of cricketers. Cricket historian Rick Smith reveals the ground's rich history.
